Roman Art

How you wondered how art developed in Rome and how it related to their religious believes and daily costumes. Roman art styles are came from Greece. All of their art were in honor of gods and political figures of that time. Roman art started of it own around 500 BC.

Roman people were interested in portraiture: making statues that looked one particular person, especial they were famous for making public figures like the emperor.

Greek Statue.
Greek people were interested in ideals: What is the most beautiful man? What is the most athletic man? The Greek statue of men are all potrate musculer and athletic. If you look really closesly to the picture you could see the muscles and the vains resembled. But Romans statue are not like Greek they were interested in realistic art that resembles someone or something.
